Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with a two-line Ruger warning. The left side of the receiver is marked “RUGER” and “.22 CAL. LONG RIFLE / MARK II TARGET”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “217-24374”.
Barrel Length: 5 1/2” Bull Barrel
Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade integral to a base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch leaf adjustable for elevation and windage in a base dovetailed to the receiver.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece black checkered polymer panels; the right features an inset Ruger phoenix logo medallion. The grips are free of any notable wear or damage. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains 97% of its blued finish and all markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Modeled after Japanese Nambu pistols with just a dash of German Luger, the Standard pistol design makes for a striking firearm. Designed in the Ruger founder’s garage, funded by a friend impressed with the design and willing to take a chance, the standard came to be like so many distinctly American things: through will and ingenuity. And it paid off. The Standard was in production for forty years, and the design is, as of 2021, in its fourth iteration, the Mark IV (a hinged receiver pistol) and saw several wonderful designs in between, each having become in its way one of the most popular and reliable pistols in America. The Mark II saw the introduction of adjustable sights and heavier barrels—this Mark II features a more compact 5 1/2” Bull Barrel.
Sourced from the collection of a well known local historian and collector, this weapon has been well maintained and cared for.
