Description:
FN Browning High Power Semi-Auto Pistol in 9MM. SN #41425. This EARLY WAR High Power was Mfg. in 1940. VERY RARE. Made for the Belgium Military with all the correct Belgian Pre-War Markings and no German Markings other than a "W" overstamp on the circled "AC" Arsenal Markings on left side of trigger guard. The "W" overstamp means that the gun was assembled after German occupation but before German Inspector Tennert showed up and started using Code WaA613 on all the guns inspected. This period of time was from June-September 1940 after which Tennert showed up. All markings are clear including "C" inside Square Inspector's Part Acceptance Marks, Belgium Government Proofs and FN Square "A" Final Inspection Mark under left side Grip Panel. The ORIGINAL Blued Metal is in VERY GOOD condition for it's age with just some light handling marks and nicks. The Wood Grips are also in VERY GOOD condition and have the Pre-War Red Finish on the back with "P" Proof Mark. 4 5/8" Crown-Liege Proofed Barrel  with an EXCELLENT Bright Bore with STRONG RIFLING. 500 Meter Tangent Rear Sight- RARE Slotted Backstrap for a Stock Attachment. Once the German Occupation started the High Powers were not made with the slotted Backstrap. ONLY A SMALL NUMBER OF HIGH POWER'S WERE PUT TOGETHER FROM JUNE TO SEPTEMBER OF 1940 MAKING THIS VERY RARE. Weight: 1.99 lbs Trigger Pull: 7 3/4 lbs. More photos available upon request.
