Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. The VP9L is one of H&K’s latest offerings. The basic VP9 model is effectively the frame of the famous P30 mated to an advanced striker fired design which uses a modified Browning system combined with an optimal precision strike trigger control system. The ergonomics of the VP9 are a high mark for pistols of the modern era having been designed to fit the human hand perfectly. Features of this grip include a frame with interchangeable backstraps and lateral side plates allowing the VP9 and VP9L to be adapted to any hand size. Like the previous P30 pistol and unlike older H&K pistols, the VP9 utilizes a modern picatinny rail on the frame for mounting lights and accessories, providing the buyer with a wider range of options than before. The VP9 also features an ambidextrous slide stop which also functions as the takedown lever. Like the P30, the VP9 features polygonal rifling in the bore for the same reasons that Glock Gens 1 thru 4 pistols do – the polygonal bore effectively seals propellant gases behind the bullet, increasing bullet velocity. A polygonal barrel can also outlast a conventionally rifled barrel by thousands of rounds. One other nice feature of the VP9 is that the extractor doubles as a loaded chamber indicator. This is useful for safety reasons. What sets the VP9L apart from the basic VP9 is the longer barrel, 5.0 inches long verses 4.09 inches. The VP9L is a competitor to other longer barrel pistols such as the Glock G34/G35, Walther Q5 Match, Canik TP9 SFX, Ruger American Competition, and the S&W M&P C.O.R.E. Pro Series pistols. Like those pistols, is has a cutout in the slide for mounting a red dot optic. It also comes with two 20 round extended magazines. The pistol shown here is used but in excellent shape and comes with its original box. The bore is without any rust or pitting. There is a notable amount of lubricant around the exterior of the barrel as can be seen in the pictures. There is no visible wear of the external finish. The box itself is missing one of the latches. There is a magazine loading tool that comes with the pistol as well the different backstraps and side plates. Finally there are four spare O-rings for the barrel. Please note that the optics plates are sold as separate items by H&K.
