Background on Windham Weaponry:
Windham Weaponry started out in Maine years ago when it bought out Gwinn Firearms, which manufactured the Bushmaster Rifle. The company produced parts under the Brand name "Quality Parts", and supplied some of the very first M-4 Barrels for the commercial market. It produced complete AR-15 / M-16 rifles for several foreign militaries. The commerical AR's were produced under the Bushmaster name, until it was bought out by a large investment group. After a the non-competition agreement with the new Bushmaster Company ended, Windham reorganized in Windham Maine with many of its original employees and once again began producing high quality AR-15 rifles.
This rifle gives the shooter all the flexibility one needs in an AR Platform.
The rifle has a deck height front gas-block Picatinny Rail. A traditional A-2 Sight can be mounted along with a Carry Handle with built-in A-2 Sight for convenience / or a scope can be mounted directly on the deck height built-in Picatinny rails, eliminating the Parrallax created when mounting a long range scope on a carry handle.
The much less common 1:7 twist allows for heavier 77 - 100 grain 5.56 bullets to be stabilized; This prevents the heavier, longer bullets from tumbling or yawing, which yields deeper penetration for taking out larger animals or for more accurate long range shots.
Of course the standard NATO 62 grain SS 109 or M-855 Green Tip steel core bullets work fine.
