The Savage® B.Mag bolt-action rifle shoots the .17 Winchester® Super Magnum cartridge to deliver velocities never dreamed of before from a rimfire rifle. The .17 WSM cartridge, producing 3,000 fps, has the trajectory varmint and predator hunters need to make consistent hits beyond 200 yards, while delivering considerably more energy than the .22 magnum or .17 HMR. The Savage B.Mag's non-rotating bolt is designed specifically for the .17 WSM cartridge; it has dual, opposing rear locking lugs, and cocks on closing. The face of the bolt encloses the base of the cartridge on 3 sides, open only on the bottom. Savage's AccuTrigger® enables shooters to obtain exceptional accuracy with the B.Mag, by allowing you to easily adjust it to your desired weight of pull for a light, crisp release with no creep. A lever mounted within the trigger body blocks the sear unless the trigger is intentionally pressed in the center, minimizing the risk of accidental discharge. The Savage B.Mag has a matte black finished steel barrel and receiver, and a rugged, weather-resistant synthetic stock. Sling swivel studs and a non-slip rubber butt pad are standard, and the receiver comes drilled and tapped with factory installed Weaver-type scope bases. A detachable, center feed, 8-round rotary magazine feeds cartridges reliably, and provides quick reloading and safe unloading. A 2-position tang safety is easy to reach with the shooter's thumb. For serious predator hunters who want minimum pelt damage on coyotes, fox, and bobcat the Savage B.Mag Bolt-Action Rimfire Rifle is a perfect choice, as well as prairie dog hunters who want an economic option to .22 centerfire cartridges for high volume shooting. .17 WSM
