Description:
COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER 44-40 with 4 3/4" Barrel, Nickel Finish, Black Powder Frame, and Black Hard Rubber Eagle Grips. NEW IN BOX -- UNTURNED/UNFIRED. Manufactured in 2010 with the 1st generation-style full length floating (removable) cylinder bushing. Includes a number of features correct for the Colt black powder era including 3-line patent date, front base pin retaining screw, indent on base pin ends, early style beveled cylinder front, and barrel inscription COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER (raised relief lettering in a recessed panel in the style of the old etching). This Colt is representative of a 1st generation Colt 44-40 manufactured between 1882 and 1890 (1882 was the first year of black eagle grips and crescent ejector head. 3-line patent marking ended 1890, and the etched panel CFSS marking became a roll mark with large lettering in 1890). There are a few detail departures from the 1st generation original, but Colt did a very nice job on this gun. Its condition appears flawless in every way - I cannot find any defect or handling marks, and not the slightest hint of a cylinder drag line (never turned). The box is in new condition, complete with all papers, Colt lock, and white outer sleeve with end markings. The serial number has been photographically blurred for security, both on the box and gun. Must be shipped to an FFL address, and will require full insurance. Cost of shipping ($200) includes full insurance with FedEx 2nd Day (required for handgun shipment).
