For sale is a WWI production Italian Carcano Fucile Modello 1891 (Rifle Model 1891), manufactured by the Terni Arsenal in 1916. This rifle is as original as any battle hardened rifle comes. The serial number on the stock does not match, see photos, which is common in rifles that saw extensive use in the trenches of WWI. There is a fair amount of bluing left on the receiver and barrel, and there is a beautiful patina covering the areas where the blue is worn (should be visible in photos). The magazine has most of the original bluing intact.
There are the typical minor dents and dings of a used military rifle on the stock. One interesting trench modification is that a soldier has made diagonal hatches on the stock under the right side of the rifle. I can only assume that was to assist in getting a better grip on the rifle in the horrid trench fighting conditions.
The bore is in fair shape considering the age and use of the firearm. The rifling is very evident, and there are the typical pits in the bore due to the nature of the ammunition used at that time.
No en bloc clips are included with this rifle. This rifle IS NOT import marked.
