Pre 1965 Savage 99F's in .308 are the most sought after by knowledgable hunters and woodsman of all of the great many iterations and configurations of 99's produced. This gem has been hunted but well cared for with normal carry wear and evidence of having been carried for the 60 or so yrs since it was made by the fine craftsman at the Old Chicopee Falls Mass Factory just 40 mins north of our location.
As a 1958 99F this still retains the lever safety, brass rotar, cartridge counter, cocking indicator,engine turned (damacented) bolt, weight reduced more slender stock set, traditional American Walnut factory hand checkered stocks and case colored lever.
This gun has not been fiddled with at all, does NOT have the typical split behind the upper tang and has NO non factory holes.
If you have been looking for a very nice 99F that is pleasure to spook around in the deer woods with this may be your gun.
