FINE SILVER MOUNTED RUSSIAN CAUCASIAN MIQUELET LOCK LARGE SIZE HOLSTER PISTOL CA. 1700’S. 19” overall with 14” round .62 caliber barrel with floral relief engraving and double gold bands at the breech. Barrel maker’s rectangular intaglio touch mark of a “HORSE” with gold ground stamped at center breech. Raised barrel rib engraved with the date “1701”. Lock stamped beneath the spring with Islamic lock maker’s touch mark. Silver butt and forend caps as well as silver barrel bands and back strap. Original black leather covered wood stock. Distinctive miquelet holster pistol favored by the Muslim tribesmen of the Caucasus Mountains of Russia. All original and in excellent condition.
