WESTERN CUTLERY CO. / BLACKJACK "STERILE" MODEL 1-7 UNMARKED FOR BLACKJACK c.1994. Please see extensive explanation of these rarely seen BlackJack Model 1-7 as they are not available any longer, nor were they ever. It was a sad time for Western Cutlery, as they were going under, as well Blackjack. NOTE: OBSERVE THE SCABBARD, IT IS THE CLASSIC DESIGN FOR WESTERN SCABBARDS AFTER WW2. CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT WESTERN WAS INVOLVED BEFORE THEY WENT "UNDER". CONFIRMING THE RARITY OF THESE RARE KNIVES.
BOTH OF THEM EVENTUALLY WENT BUST, AND B.J. SOLD THE FEW KNIVES TO A.G. RUSSEL AFTER ETCHING THE BLADES. THEY ARE QUITE RARE! I PICKED THIS ONE UP FROM A FORMER WESTERN CUTLERY BLADESMITH. WESTERN ALLOWED IT'S REMAINING GRINDERS/POLISHERS TO MAKE A KNIFE OR TWO AS A MOMENTO.
B.J. IS STILL ALIVE TODAY AS "BARK RIVER KNIVES", MIKE STEWART STILL AT THE REINS! CAN'T KEEP A GREAT KNIFESMITH DOWN FOR LONG. WESTERN CUTLERY GROUND AND MIRROR POLISHED THESE LIMITED UNMARKED KNIVES FOR BLACKJACK BEFORE BOTH COMPANIES WENT "BUST". IN OVER A YEAR SEARCHING FOR A FEW, NO LUCK. WHAT ARE THEY WORTH? A LOT!
