Description:
Very scarce gun. Only a handful were ever engraved and only about 5k were ever manufactured. This gun features pistol grip checkered deluxe grade wood with a rifle style buttplate. Nicely checkered in the fleur-de-lis pattern. Wood has nearly all original varnish. 24 inch half octagon barrel and full length magazine tube. Lyman front sight and Remington flip up rear sight. Elaborate engraving with a delicate Remington scroll that is frequently seen on the more deluxe guns. Caliber 45-70 with a very nice bore. One of the earliest bolt action repeating rifles made. About 90% nickel remains with some minor bubbling. A very scarce gun.
