PRE WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 OR M-1 GARAND RIFLE RECEIVER, CIRCA FEB. 1940. Blue black original finish with crisp markings including serial number (below "Springfield") and receiver leg drawing numbers "D 28291-1' and other heat treatment stamp "J 2 A 1/ 5". Other small letter stamps on underside testament to it's never having been sanded or buffed and NO signs of salt or pepper anywhere. Barrel threads in perfect condition and crisp as well. Nice early Pre War receiver worthy of a rifle built up around it. Prime example.
