Introduced in 1978 and built under contract with Browning by the Italian firm Beretta, the BDA 380 semi-auto pistol was a commerical success. The BDA 380 looks like a scaled-down Beretta M92, featuring a double-action semi-automatic action, factory gloss-blued steel parts, a black anodized alloy frame, a 3 & 13/16" inch barrel, fixed sights, a double-stack 14-round magazine, and smooth Walnut grips. Not only is the BDA 380 a very handsome little gun, but it proved to be extremely reliable, accurate, safe, and comfortable to shoot. The BDA 380 remained in production until 1997 when it was discontinued. This particular example was made in 1982 and remains in excellent condition inside and out. The factory finishes are in beautiful shape rating 99% plus, with the only deductions coming from a couple of extremely minor handling and storage marks. As you can see from the pictures, it is a very pristine-looking Browning. The bore in this pistol is minty and mirror-bright with zero visible imperfections. The rifling still looks brand-new throughout the barrel. The smooth Walnut grips with Browning Buckmark medallions are in excellent condition. Both sides are excellent with no mechanical wear. The factory gloss coating is fully intact on these grips, and both sides are perfectly tight to the gun with no wiggle. All of the controls on this BDA 380 are in perfect working order, and the slide-to-frame fitment is perfect with no sloppiness. It is obvious that this Browning has spent it's life in a sock drawer or safe, and appears to be unfired since leaving the factory. This pistol comes complete with one factory 14-round magazine in excellent condition and factory soft pouch. If you have been looking for one of these hard-to-find pistols for your collection this 1982-production gun would be an excellent choice. It would be very hard to upgrade from this clean and attractive all-original example.
