If you have been looking for an investment-worthy Winchester Model 24 Double Barrel in 16 Gauge for your collection here is your chance to get one of the nicest we have seen in some time. This particular example is serial number 46668, manufactured in 1947. It has obviously lived a very easy life since leaving Winchester's factory, as it appears to have been fired maybe a handful of times at the very most. This Winchester Model 24 has 28" inch barrels with 2.75" inch chambers with a solid rib and checked Modified and Full. The factory gloss blue finish is in beautiful condition and rates 95% plus, with the only deductions coming from some very minor handling/storage marks that are only visible under super close inspection. All of the factory markings on this Winchester are crisp and clean, and all of the screws and pins in this shotgun are in like-new condition, The fit and finish of this shotgun is really excellent, particularly when compared to other Model 24's from the time period. Everything from the action to the safety is still nice and tight, it has not even begun to be "broken-in" yet. The action lever still sits nicely to the right of the center-line running thru the tang-mounted safety switch (which is automatic), indicating that the locking lugs are still in like-new condition. The bores in both barrels of this Model 24 are bright and pristine, free from any dents, bulges, pitting, or damage of any kind. The factory stock set on this Winchester is in excellent condition. Both the forearm and buttstock are a perfect match to each other in both color and wear. The original factory varnish is still 99% intact on both pieces and there are no cracks in the Walnut anywhere. The action on Model 24 is nice and tight, and the barrels are perfectly "on face". All of the controls on this shotgun are in perfect working order and there is no doubt that this Winchester will still function just as well today as when it left the factory new over 75 years ago! These Winchester Model 24's are becoming harder and harder to find in collectible condition, and their values keep going up every year. If you want a REALLY NICE all-original 16 gauge here is your chance to get one that would be damn hard to improve upon, and it will never be cheaper than it is now!
