Description:
Second model Winchester 1890 mfg.1899 with a rare casehardened frame .22 short. serial # 64756.The second model was designed as a takedown rifle. It also had a case hardened receiver, but had an adjustable rear sight. In August 1901, the case hardened receiver was changed to a blued version. Approximately 100,000 second model rifles were produced with case hardened receivers, and 200,000 were produced with blued receivers. Action is smooth and safety is functional on half-cock. It has a nice original Lyman #1A WS Tang Sight made for the Winchester Model 1890 or 1906 ,complete and functional. Bluing has turned to a dark gray. Wood is in great shape, shootable bore. Overall condition is very good for a 123 year old rife. As is no returns.
