Description:
Here is new made finished jan 2022 iron mounted flintlock mountain rifle.
Wv walnut wood, trig guard and buttplate handmade by WV smith, lock and triggers L&R co ,other mounts made by me.
The barrel has interesting history.
It is a 45 cal 7/8 x 37 1/2 long,.45 cal made in 1971 by Mr Boyd Henry,descendant of the Pennsylvania gunmaking family of same name.
Mr Henry made/muzzleloader barrels in central WV for many years,Bottom of barrel at breech is engraved in electric pen-Boyd Henry-=oct 1971
1-48 twist.It is a shooter,not worn out, hardly shot and definately not abused. Rifling still shiny and fresh

First shot 10 on big bull, other 5 in a slightly lower group. Old man eyes I guess.
Finish is my sealer, with 4 coats of True oil ,metal is perma blue rubbed back and oiled
Very nice offhand rifle

I usually have UPS store pack, and insured for full value, and last time I shipped one of these, a couple months ago to Michigan, cost was 250.00
I do prefer local pick up, but whatever is necessary.
