The Navy received 1000 to which a belt hook was added and the Army received 626. There is no evidence of a belt hook ever being present on this gun. This rare 0.69 smooth bore pistol has a 9 1/16 inch barrel and is martially marked with crisp markings. The left side of the barrel has the P/US and the right side is blank. Some of these pistols were marked HHP on the barrel left side. This gun has been expertly reconverted to flintlock so the HHP marking, if ever there, would be gone. The lock plate reads: S North in a semicircle over an eagle with U and S with MIDL CON. There are faint traces of a cartouche on the left stock. The iron metal surfaces have been cleaned. A chance to own a good example of this very rare gun. SOLD Antique: Yes |
