Standard Frank Wesson patent markings and Kittredge retailer markings on the barrel, partially obscured by the rear sight dovetail. Includes period replaced ladder rear sight. Roughly 4,500 of these military pattern Wesson rifles were produced with Kittredge & Co of Cincinnati selling many of them to the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas and Ohio for use during the Civil War.

Condition: Very Good. Retains little finish with the barrel becoming a nice brown patina and showing scattered light pitting. Frame with a brownish gray patina. Barrel markings partially obscured by the rear sight dovetail cut. Mechanically very functional, good bore with decent rifling. Stock with light wear especially for a Civil War Combat weapon.
