Description:
Colt Model 1878 .32-20 WCF caliber double action revolver. Barrel length 4 3/4". Bore shows a black powder frost with deep sharp rifling. Gun has a good looking frontier flavor with almost no blue overall, but with a smooth finish with no pits. The grips are a well fitted pair of bunk house made steer bone. The grips and original holster speak of long days on the range. The holster is a Vintage, Von Lengerke & Antoine (AKA) VL&A of Chicago, A very colorful rig. The belt also comes with this set and is a Money Belt. The loops will fit .32-20 Caliber rounds. The Belt maker is unknown.
Barrel marking are completely gone. I have seen this with ranch hand guns that saw daily service. On the other hand the rider that packed this rig may have also packed a running iron.
