Thanks, Mark Description: This is a collection of three hats having belonged to Herman Goring, two early visors and a late war M43. The visors are circa 1934 for the blue top and circa 1935 for the white top with first pattern eagle, and the M43 probably mid to late war with second pattern eagle. All three were made by the top maker in Germany during WW 2, Robert Lubstein and are stamped in the crown of the hats with the Robert Lubstein logo along with the H. G. initials. The two visors have leather sweat diamonds with the information embossed on them while the M43 has the information stamped directly on the silk liner material. The picture of Goring shows him wearing the blue visor or one identical to it. The copy of the picture will be included with the hats along with other reference I have. All of the hand embroidered bullion is done over unterlagen and was applied to the hats before they were assemblied. hats like these are shown in the most authorative reference on Luftwaffe hats, Headgear of Hitlers Germany by Wim H. Saris and Jill Halcomb published in 1990 by James Bender ... All three hats will be sold together. Contact me concerning S H & I on these or picking them up in Atlanta from me personally. For additional pictures or different views please contact me at the email on this listing. Thanks, Mark SOLD |
