Description:
**NEW PRICE**
This underhammer single-shot pistol is seldom encountered and considerably more scarce than the earlier Grafton First Model.  Grafton-made Second Models are known but are now almost totally uncirculated.  Production was suspended throughout the Norwich period, then briefly resumed at Worcester.  There are few survivors in any condition..
This example, # "405", is in very good overall condition and is typically unadorned without engraving or grip spangles. The 5 3/4" barrel is well-marked "Allen & Thurber" "Worcester" "Cast Steel", and has a brass front bead sight.
All metal surfaces are smooth and unpitted with minimal nicks and scratches. The hammer and trigger show very good finish with traces elsewhere in protected areas.
The frame, barrel, trigger and sideplate marked # "405".
Grips are well-fitting with good varnish, several dents and bruises, and a hairline crack on the right side below the screw.
Reference data and photos are more limited on this model than on most Allen models, but collectors of this important gunmaker will find this example 100% complete and original.
