ORIGINAL “MOVIE PROP” GUN Antique CIVIL WAR Springfield Model 1863 MUSKET
FOX STUDIOS/TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX
Here we present an antique Springfield U.S. Model 1863 Type II Rifle-Musket, manufactured at the Springfield Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts circa 1864. This movie prop musket was used in Twentieth Century Fox/Fox Studios Civil War and early American movies.
This item has been around the block. Strong action. The bore is clear and remains in good shape for age and use. Solid walnut stock with an above average amount of wear and “FOX” is stamped on the underside in front of the trigger guard. “1861” dated barrel and “1864” is engraved on the lock. Barrel shortened slightly. Missing ramrod. “US” marked on the butt plate tang. “FOX STUDOS” is stamped on the lock.
