MAS Model 45 French .22 LR Training Rifle - The spoils of war helped to create the MAS -45 Training Rifle . After the fall of Germany many of the German factories reverted back to the countries they occupied . Mauser had several factories in France and the French Army needed a new .22 training rifle . The French Army wanted a new design that utilized a clip style magazine. The factory they selected had previously manufactured the Mauser KKM .22 LR training rifle and thus the similarities . After serveral years the factory's tooling and parts were relocated to another MAS factory in St. Etienne where production continued until the early 70's.
Smooth hardwood pistol grip style stock with sling swivels. 24 in long barrel and 42.5 in overall lenght. Bore is clean and bright. Wgt. 8.25 lbs. Adjustable rear aperature sight up to 150 meters, front sight is ramped with bead and protection hood. Included is an original carry strap inlike new condition, 3 extra 5 round clip magazines and the original shipping number ID.tag. Overall condition is excellent appears to have never been fired. The MAS 45 has proven itself as an excellant competitive shooter. The bolt, receiver and portions of the barrel have the original cosmoline which can be removed per customer request. One of the nicest MAS 45 's we've seen in a long time. SALE PENDING.
