It has a very good gray metal finish and a fine bright bore, all complete and functional. Stevens manufactured an extensive line of smaller single - shot rifles , chambered for smaller calibers.Their are Many variations that were available with a number of options.There were over a 1,000,000 produced between 1893 & 1939. Was known as “Boys Rifle” back in the day age was a popular first gun for youngsters. They sold for $2-3 brand new at the time. Own a functional part of American firearm history today.
