SOLD Intriguing guns seem to come my way often and this gun is no exception with an 1873 lockplate and 1884 breech. This carbine may have hung in a GAR hall as the raised butt-stock letters are common for display purposes. The barrel is 24" long and the bore is clean, shiny, and rifled. Much armory blue on the lock and lesser on the action, and the action works well. The walnut stock has dryness and several field handling dings. Has an 1884 rear sight base but the ladder is missing, and the rear barrel band has the 1884 sight groove. Looks like the nose cao got dinged as it's off center slightly and the sliver of wood is missing on the left side behind the nose cap. The buttplate at the top has rust pitting where the buttplate had sit someplace with dampness. Front barrel band is the 1884 stacking type. Overall a very colorful trapdoor. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
