Superb French Model 1816 Cavalry Musketoon. The total length is about 34 ½". The round approximately 19 ¾". Smooth bore .69 caliber barrel has an excellent bore. All metal is bright with scattered light staining. The brass furniture is excellent. The approximate 12 ¼" sling bar has the expected two rings. The wood is excellent with a few storage dents. The stock cartouche is dated 1821. It is strongly struck with a very clear Fleur De Lis. The barrel is marked MLE 11 and dated 1821. The stock has a recessed cheek rest on the left. The lock is marked manuf. Roy (Royal) de Maubeuge’. The action functions correctly. Just handling this Musketoon makes one smile. Never a need to upgrade!
