Here's a Great Piece of American history! Colt Artillery! These where built for the 1901 U.S. Military Contract. Teddy Roosevelt Days ! Awsome Original Example ! I wish this one could talk . 100 percent original and untouched condition. Metal has turned a mellow patina . Markings still crisp . Gun is in excellent working order . Hammer has all the clicks and locks up tight . Bore is very good plus condition. Original Walnut grips are in excellent original condition. 1901 cartouche still present and visible . This is a mixed serial number example . Very few have all matching numbers maybe 5 percent of the totol production had matching Numbers.95 percent where Mia matched numbers . See Kopecs book for reference. This is serial number 55523. Great example that was there and seen plenty of action . True survivor.
