Description:
For sale is one (1) Mauser DSM (Deutsches Sportmodell) .22lr trainer. The rifle is all matching with serial #6251. Mauser produced approximately 50,900 of the DSM model between January 1934 and October 1940. This rifle was produced in mid-1934. Early features of this rifle are a small "Mauser" chamber mark, a non-beveled ejection port, no pressure holes in the front end of the receiver, and a low address line on the left side of the receiver. Barrel proofs on the left barrel side, right of serial # 6251 are a "459", and the "BUG" proof. Left side of receiver has a C/B and C/U proof left of the serial #6251. Bore is clean and bright, no pitting or dark areas. Condition of wood and metal is approximately 95% excluding the butt plate and the stock disc. The butt plate is more of grey/brown patina and the stock disc a brown patina. (To learn more about these rifles see "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany", by Robert Simpson).
