Payment Types Accepted: Check or Money Orders Description: . S O L D ..........Martially Marked Colt Model 1860 Army (Mfg. ca.1862)44 caliber. 8" round barrel length. SN: 55662 (Mfg. ca.1862). Blued metal finish with case hardened finish to frame, loading lever, and hammer. Brass triggerguard and one piece walnut grip. Single action revolver with hammer notch rear sight and German silver blade front sight. Markings include naval engagement and a K, both to cylinder. Barrel is marked with a B on left side, K on the right side, and -ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA- to top of barrel. Item has matching serial numbers to bottom of barrel, frame, triggerguard, and gripstrap. Backstrap features an H mark just behind hammer. Wedge has non-matching serial number 3024 with an inverted 2. Barrel was unable to be separated from frame to check for arbor serial number. Grip shows cartouches on both sides, with a boxed JT inspector mark by John Taylor on right side of grip and an obscured boxed inspector mark on left grip. Grip also has eleven (kill?) notches carved to bottom of both sides, and a W carved to bottom of right side. Condition: Very Good. Bore is heavily frosted and shows some patches of active oxidation. I sprayed Rem Oil, to loosen it up. There are faint remnants of case hardened finish on frame and hammer. Barrel and loading lever have mostly turned to a red-brown patina. Pretty nice cylinder scene. There are some small spots of dark sticky residue scattered mostly to barrel and cylinder, possibly pine tar or a similar substance. Item may have a replaced rear screw on frame, screw head is not flush with frame and there appear to be concentric groove machine marks. Action is functional and timing is good. ...S/H $25....2nd revolver ships FREE with this one!....Thanks, Greg cp SOLD Antique: Yes Handgun Caliber: .44 Manufacturer: Colt Model: Army Serial Number: 55662 Barrel Length: 7.5 Bore: Bright/Strong Rifling Condition: VG |
