Description:
Offered for sale is one (1) 1945 WW2 German P.38 Spreewerk production, serial #b2197. Code stamp is the cvq (cvq is a worn/broken cyq die. The "b-prefix" guns are from the March/April 1945 time and estimates of production are approximately 5000 guns. Production of "b-prefix" guns followed the 10,000-production run of Spreewerk "a-prefix". They are the last German wartime production. The "b-prefix" guns will be encountered with 3 stamps, 2 stamps, or 1 stamp on the right side of the slide. This gun, serial # b2197, has 3 stamps. From left to right they represent Acceptance, Proof, and Final Acceptance. In the collecting circles, it’s accepted that all Spreewerk cvq b-prefix guns were dipped. Many will have the Russian "X" stamped on them in a visible location. Also, many of this variation will be import marked. This gun is neither import marked nor Russian "X". This gun has a mint bore and the late war cog hammer. Condition overall is excellent. Decocker and double action work perfectly. Rear sight is tight in the slide. Front sight has the stake line. Grips are original Posselt with no cracks or chips. Posselt grips are correct for late 1943 Spreewerk P.38's to the end of WW2. Left inside grip has the name "Pete" scratched in it. Spreewerk "b-prefix" P.38's are not common guns. I ship through a local dealer when payment clears. They will contact your FFL for transfer. USA sales only in lower 48 states.
