Description:
SALE PENDING....U.S. Springfield Model 1855....Dated 1860....LAYAWAY?.58 caliber. 40" barrel length. SN: NSN. Single shot percussion rifle with altered rear leaf sight and blade front sight. Bright metal finish. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip and forearm with three barrel bands and an iron forend cap. Features a Maynard percussion cap priming system, buttstock patchbox, and sling swivels to middle barrel band and triggerguard. Markings include "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" and
"1860" to lockplate, with a "U.S." marked to heel of buttplate. Includes a tulip head ramrod.
Condition:
Good. Bore is partially dark, with worn rifling. Finish has pitting, scratching, and surface oxidation overall. Wood stock shows scattered scratching and mars, has not been cleaned Rear sight appears to have been altered to only have a small notch rear sight, with large leaf removed. 2nd firearm ships FREE, with this one!......DUE TO THE USPS CHARGING AN ADDITIONAl $15 FOR BOXES LONGER THAN 30", I HAVE HAD TO ADJUST MY SHIPPING CHARGES....
