This is a Sawtooth # 7 bear trap (# 35 of only 50 made). It weighs over 70 pounds and is 53" long from spring tip to spring tip, which dwarfs the S. Newhouse # 6 grizzly bear trap at 42" and 43 pounds. One of the strongest and largest traps ever made.
High quality steel was tempered to produce the super strong springs and chain assembly. This limited edition bear trap has numerous hand stamps on the jaws, springs, jaw posts, base, chain, and brass tag. The trap has the serial # 35 of 50 engraved on the base and brass tag showing that only 50 were made. The unique wicked looking teeth and excellent craftmanship make this an excellent item to display in rustic lodge, bar, restaurant, man cave, or museum.
With the very limited number produced, you may never see another Sawtooth bear trap again. Note: photos are of a different serial number Sawtooth trap that sold awhile back; this trap; serial # 35 is new in the box. Made entirely in Idaho U.S.A.
