Colt New Army civilian model revolver made in 1896.! It has the rare short 3 inch barrel,with broad sight. I have seen two other short barrel Colt New Army's ,with the exact same broader sight ( really an improvement ) in the past. Batch numbers match,short barrel address is fine.Grips have no cracks and are great for age.Screws not bad and metal smooth with scattered original bluing.Chambers decent and bore has all rifling with light scattered pitting.Works in single and double action with some loosness at lockup.Which is common with these right turners.Remember,even though this antique revolver will chamber .38 special,it was designed for .38 long colt black powder loads.I sell my antique guns for collecting and display purposes. If wanting to shoot,one must contact shop gunsmith for safety of revolver and proper load. Though an antique,there are some places I cannot sell to.
