This 8.15X46R caliber Mauser Model 98 single shot target rifle is in excellent condition. The 29.5"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The rear windage adjustable barrel sight is graduated to 100, 175, and 300 meters. The elevation and windage adjustable diopter peep sight is also graduated to 100, 175, and 300 meters. The peep is rotated out of the way when the bolt is operated. The gun has approx. 98%+ blue finish. The serial number is matching on the barrel, bolt, and receiver. The left side of the barrel is marked with the serial number followed by 8,15X46. The top of the receiver has the Mauser banner logo and the left side has crown over G, N, B, and U proof marks followed by the serial number with MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A/N. to the rear. The bolt handle has the last four digits of the serial number over a crown over B and crown over U. The stock is very fine with scattered usage dents and dings but with no cracks or chips. The swivels, including the detachable rear, and cleaning rod are present. The action functions perfectly.
