Smith & Wesson’s Double Action Carry Revovler
Here we present a C&R 4th Model Smith & Wesson .38 S&W Double Action Revolver, made circa 1905 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Smith & Wesson Fourth Models were produced from 1895 to 1909, and this gun was manufactured roughly in the latter part of the production run. Serial numbers for the 4th model ran from 322,701 to 539,300 for a total of approximately 216,600. Differences between the third model and the fourth were doing away with the rocker-type cylinder stop, along with removing the extra cuts in the cylinder. The Model 2 in .38 S&W was made in five different variants.
The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. Bright, nicely rifled bore. Original finish has been preserved. Both grips are in good shape 9the right grips does contain a scratch on the butt). Number match and the makings are legible.
