Description:
Acrylic on board: 12" x 16". Framed. Piece portrays a buffallo or bison laying down in afield. He has a blue bird perched atop his head, and they are both framed by a yellow sunset or sunrise. Simple yet well done piece that would compliment a variety of different homes.
Artist bio: Mario lived on the Nez Perce Reservation at Lapawai, Idaho most of his life. He learned stories of the Nez Perce direct from the "old men" at the sweat house, "The Nez Perce are my best friends…The only thing I paint are indians and historical events which I know very well and try to be accurate. If I had to chose somebody who influenced me, I'd have to say Ace Powell. Although, I use Acryclics for my backgrounds which are simple because I like to go directly to the subject…
