Here's a TRUE 1st year Model 70 Carbine in .30 GOV'T. '06 (30-06) made in 1936, and in about as good of a condition as you will ever see. S/N 2366 with matching scribed bolt. 20" carbine barrel with excellent bore, perfect integral front sight ramp transition and crown. Mechanical function is flawless. A really great example showing about 97% original finishes with all of the desirable early features: polished carbonum blued receiver, frost blued extractor, rust blued barrel, square faced magazine release plunger, fine line checkering on stock, etc. The rear receiver bridge remains undrilled. There is a factory installed 1st generation Lyman 48 receiver sight with all matching inner component numbers and the thimble type adjustment knobs. A rare gun in this condition, configuration and vintage. Shipping from Alaska is $75 via Priority Mail with full insurance in a custom cut foam lined box for maximum protection.
