Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: The Colt Third Model Derringer (THUER Model) was made from 1875 to 1912, with approximately 45,000 manufactured. The single shot pistols were fitted with a side pivoting 2 1/2 inch barrel, varnished walnut grips, blue finished barrels, brass frames which were nickel or silver plated, spur trigger, and chambered in .41 R.F. or C.F.. This 1880's vintage, British proofed, Colt is as described, with a nickel plated frame and chambered in .41 R.F.. It is in fine original condition, with the barrel retaining 10% of its original blue finish, mostly turning a grey patina. The "COLT" stamp on top of the barrel is sharp as are the British proof stamps under the barrel. The frame retains 85% of its original nickel finish, with most of the visible finish thinning located on the sharp edges. The original factory grips retain 60% of their original varnished finish, fit perfectly well, and have no cracks or chips on either side. As-is proper for this vintage and model, both grip panels are numbered in pencil with the matching serial number to the gun, "14514" on the reverse side. The gun itself was stamped with the factory serial number by Colt when it was manufactured in the U.S. on the left side of the grip frame "14514" (under the grip panel), and then was assigned a 2nd serial number by the British Goverment after going thru the British proofing process which was then stamped on the exterior right side of the frame ("17568"). The bore is in fine condition, mostly bright with decent rifling and only a few very minor spots of light pitting. The gun has been serial numbered twice, once from the factory (frame, grips, and barrel stamped 14514) and again in England when the right side of the frame was stamped 17568. A unique Colt Derringer for the advanced Colt Derringer collection. PRICE: **SOLD** We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.
