Description:
Presented for you today is a first-generation, .45 caliber Colt Single Action Army revolver with 7-1/2″ barrel. This antique firearm, originally manufactured in 1884, was restored by Turnbull Restoration Co. in 2016.

“DFC” metal stamps and grip cartouche are those of David F. Clark, the United State government’s principal sub-inspector between 1880 and 1887.

The frame on this gun is the early “black powder” style with the cylinder base pin retained by a screw entering from the front of the frame. Metal restoration included period-correct polishing and refinishing; restoration of original markings; color case hardened frame, loading gate and hammer; nitre blued trigger, base pin and screws; charcoal blued cylinder and barrel.

New, one-piece walnut grips were made and fitted, and original “DFC” cartouche was restored.

The antique colt revolver has been enjoyed since its 2016 restoration and well cared for. Shows light handling marks.
