Beautiful early Pre War Model 70 Super Grade in all time favorite 30-06 caliber. S/N 17*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1938. Overall 97-98% Blue and Varnish. 24" barrel with excellent bore and flawless mechanics.
Great early features include a polished carbonum blued receiver, rust blued barrel, undrilled rear receiver bridge, frost blued extractor, etc. There is a factory installed Lyman 48 receiver sight with the early thimble style knob and all matching component numbers throughout. All unique Super Grade components are also present including the deluxe stock with contrasting fore end tip/ elevated cheek rest/ and extensive wrap around checkering, Redfield 254 gold bead front sight, SUPER GRADE stamped floorplate, robust detachable swivels, etc. It has become QUITE RARE to see a Pre War 30-06 Super Grade that has not been stripped of its key parts and this is a nice one!
