The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation.  A strikingly handsome gun made with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN.  Most double gun enthusiasts are keenly aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21.  With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any original Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm.  This fine M21 Skeet Grade, sn12422 built in 1948, is a great example of a vintage gun with the very best of modern shooting features.  With mirror bores, barrels tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with the top lever right of center, crisp single selective trigger, strong well-timed ejectors, great shooting dimensions, and in the same configuration as when it left the factory 74 years ago (except the buttplate), she is mechanically AS NEW.  The 26” WS1/WS2 barrels retain 97% factory blue, the receiver retains 96% factory blue, the trigger guard 70% factory blue, and the HIGHLY FIGURED WALNUT stocks have excellent checkering with no cracks and great wood-to-metal fit.  This fine Winchester has been in use for 74 years and shows light handling marks on the wood, some normal wear and flaking on the receiver, and normal handling marks and wear on the barrels. MOST MODEL 21 GUNS YOU SEE FOR SALE HAVE HAD THE METAL REFINISHED (almost look as if they are spray painted), THIS GUN HAS ALL ORIGINAL WINCHESTER FINISHES ON THE BARRELS, ACTION, AND TRIGGER GUARD.  It is likely the wood has been restored sometime in the last 74 years.  What a nice find in a Model 21…all original metal finishes.  If you enjoy chasing upland birds, or just shooting a round of skeet or sporting clays, this is a great vintage Winchester.  Winchester’s WS1 and WS2 chokes are ideal upland chokes.  Many do not know that WS2 choke is tighter than IC, this one showing .016 thousandths of constriction, or a light modified.  The mechanics and screws are perfect, ready for the highest volume, heaviest loads you would ever want to feed into a shotgun.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED MODEL 21 WITH A 90-DAY SHOOTING WARRANTY, the action and forend iron having been stripped to the smallest parts, Ultrasonic cleaned, all parts scrubbed, inspected for function and integrity, lubricated, and reassembled, a $325 service in our shop.  WE HAVE THE CODY FIREARMS MUSEUM INFO SHEET THAT DOCUMENTS THE GUN AS SHIPPED.  There are many 12ga. Model 21 guns to choose from, but how do you know which one to buy???  I suggest that you only buy a valuable investment quality shotgun if you know for sure what you are getting.  You need details to make an informed choice…details most other sellers do not provide like bore diameter, barrel wall thicknesses, stock dimensions, chokes and other specifics that make a big difference in value.  And how about photos that will really let you see the gun and its condition before you spend your money?  We at Vintage Firearms work hard to provide you the power of knowledge and the opportunity to buy solid, investment quality firearms with no excuses or surprises.  We even answer our phone all day long, 6 days a week.  We want your business!   Thanks for looking!
