The Model 1895 came to fruition in the late 19th century and was manufactured by Loewe Berlin. This rifle design was adopted and ordered by the Chilean military, leading to some of the biggest orders for the rifle going to south America. This history led to the rifle being designated the Model 1895 Chilean and these contract rifles bare the Chilean crest and they are chambered for the then popular 7mm Mauser round.
