Description: Great looking early Quality 4 10ga gun from a distinguished L.C. Smith collection. This gun made as a heavy 10ga Fowler with 32" barrels and what appear to be original 3" chambers, perhaps for brass casings. Gun made with splinter forend, double triggers, extractors, and safety. Capped pistol grip buttstock is nicely checkered in point pattern through the wrist and has fine grain layout appearing to be French Walnut and terminates with its original buttplate. Gun is nicely engraved in early Quality 4 pattern, most likely by A.E. Spangler with beautiful game scene and scroll. Overall, this gun remains in pleasing original condition. The barrels retain about 80% original Damascus pattern. Receiver retains about 35%++ original case color which has toned more from time and not from wear. Stocks are sound and retain about 85% of their original finish with well defined checkering. Bores are mostly bright and shiny with some minor orange peel. Gun is tight and mechanics are fine. This fine Smith is priced at $3895 plus shipping directly to your door as an antique.
