Got a Mauser C96 Broomhandle 9mm Caliber with a Wooden Shoulder Stock and Leather Holster or Harness.
This is a package. We wil NOT split it up.
The Mauser the serial numbers match on most all places. The ones that do not like on the bolt, could be a part number but we DO NOT KNOW. We took pictures of every mark we could find. We think this is War-Time Commercial. From internet searches on the Serial Number of 14245 comes up to 1898 manufacture. There are no import marks that we can see.
This comment is from someone who knows significantly more than me when he looked at the piece.................................The serial number 14215 is within the range 1-150,000 for the Mauser Red 9 contract guns. It has 500m sights, which is correct for an original 9mm Mauser Broomhandle. This is an early example because it doesn’t have a red 9 branded on the grips............................................
The Shoulder stock has a number which not not match the gun. Also pictured.
The harness or holster shows the date of 1918 and the other holster markings are pictured. There is a cleaning rod also attached to the holster.
This is the best we can research on this particular piece.
We tried to get pictures of every maker's mark, logo, stamp, cartouche and whatever we could find. Look closely at the pictures as what you see is what you get. Please check the pictures to check condition.
Opinion here, and our knowledge is less than ZERO on these firearms. We tried to get a close of detail as we could. The firearm is functional. The hammer locked backed and released. We did NOT allow it to fall. Just released. Every thing locks and connect and safety works as it is supposed to. Also tried to figure out how to dissamble and get some bore and chamber pictures but could not find anything to show me how from a You Tube Video to some one some where detailing it on line. All of the functions are tight and lock up is same. Again. We do not shoot inventory and we DO NOT drop the hammer.
