Known as the "Snail Drum", this is a 32-round magazine made as an accessory to the LP.08 "Artillery Luger". The B/N marking identifies the manufacturer as Bing in Nurnberg. What you have is what the Germans would call a second issue TM08. (Trommel magazine for 08 pistol)
Second issue reflects redesign of the winding handle. The “B over N” stamp indicates it was made by “Gebruder Bing” in Nurnberg. Numbers around outside indicate remaining rounds in reference to handle. The serial number is just that, not matched to any specific pistol.
In the historical aspect, if of interest, these drums were issued in 1917, they were sent into the field in wooden cases. Five drums, one loading tool, and ammo. The loading tools are rare, being a five to one ratio. Each drum came with a close fitting dust cover.
The drum was also used on the Bergmann MP18 sub-machine gun, with a sleeve adaptor.
The drum was intended for use in the 8” barreled “Artillery Luger”, with an attached rear board stock. They may be used on any other Luger though

Our knowledge of Lugers and related and anything pro or post wartime is LESS than zero. We just copied from mulitiple internet searches as well as comments from folks on the internet.
The magazine is exactly as you see it This is a listed as a "Used." This being at least 100 years old chance of this not being used is less than ZERO. It is exactly as you see it. There is no box, paperwork or anything other than the magazine. We found a protective magazine holder that will used to protect when we ship this.
If you want more pictures please ask and reference what. We do NOT dissassemble as we do not know how to and the searches on the internet read do not unless you know what you are doing.
This came from one of five (5) seperate estates of an FFL/SOT Gun Smith, Gun Stores. This is or was inventory. This is or was part of the collection. Please check the pictures to check condition. There will be countless other listings from this inventory over the next 4 to 5 years. We are selling for the each. We did NOT buy out.. This is NOT a liquidation.
