Absolutely gorgeous and near mint Model 21 made for Robert G. Dunlop, former CEO of Sun Oil Company who transformed the company in to Sunoco and lead the company through a period of rapid growth and innovation. A simple Google search of Dunlop reveals much of his history and business prowess. The gun is a 28" barrel with point pattern checkered beavertail forend, gold plated SST, auto ejectors, auto safety. The blued receiver is nicely engraved in factory grade 1 pattern. Handsome American Walnut buttstock is nicely figured with flame grain and checkered in point pattern and terminates with its original checkered butt. Top of rib marked Custom Built By Winchester for Roger G. Dunlop. Gold oval near toe engraved "RGD".
Overall, the gun remains in near mint all original condition. Barrels and receiver retain virtually all of their original finish. Stocks are near mint and retain virtually all of their original finish with the exception of a fleck or two of finish on the left side of the forend near the frame which could easily be touched up, but hardly worth noting. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Factory letter confirms the gun exactly as found today. I acquired this gun from a descendant of Dunlop.
