"Serial number 62638. Made in 1856. 36 caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. This gun is in excellent original condition with 95% of the original finish. Frame has 85% of the original case colors. Grips are in excellent condition and nicely figured. This gun is cut for a first model shoulder stock where the stock attaches on the back strap of the revolver. The stock is excellent as well. This is a canteen shoulder stock. The gun and the stock are 10 numbers apart. The gun is all matching except for the cylinder which is one number off. This is clearly a factory error. This gun comes with a letter from noted author R. L. Wilson. Mr. Wilson says this gun is all original and one of only 3 First Model Shoulder stock sets known to him. He also declares this gun is worthy of the finest museum or private collection.
