Description:
Marlin Model 97 .22LR. The action is very clean with strong case colors remaining, the seams are very tight with no gaps indicating that the take-down feature was not utilized often or at all. Flat top receiver with 3 factory holes and filler screws, no evidence of having been turned or any sight mounted, two factory holes for a tang peep with no evidence of having been turned or any sight mounted, markings are crisp with sharp edges. The barrel is a full length octagonal with good blue and bore, Marlin markings and patent dates are all clear with sharp edges, blue is factory blue with loss at edges and one small patch nearr the muzzle at the top of the barrel, factory sights are present, tubular magazine is full length. The stocks are fair with deep dents and wear especially at the end of the fore end and the left side of the stock, factory finish is present, 13 1/2" length of pull to MFA&Co Marlin Safety butt plate. These are really neat little takedown rifles that would cost a fortune to manufacture with this quality today. 03828151 ISS $sold pending
