Description:
One of the last great values in all of Parker collecting - the great small bore upgrades. This gun, a beautiful little 20ga skeet choked gun that started life as a VHE and now an A-1 Special by Pachmayr. Now with 26-3/4" barrels, fully checkered beavertail forend, gold plated double triggers, auto ejectors, safety, capped pistol grip buttstock with gold shield in grip and checkered butt with fleur de lis pattern. The gun is fabulously engraved in A1 Special pattern with with well executed heavy floral scroll. Barrel fences properly ribbed just like a real factory A1 Special! Bottom of frame with "pig tail" carving, and gold inlaid in large gold letters "Parker Bros" on bottom. Trigger guard is fully engraved with SN in gold at tang.
This gun comes to me from descendants of the late Allen Morris who founded the American Sporting Gun Museum. Mr. Morris was an early American double gun collector of great notoriety and owned many exceptionally fine American doubles including 3 of the Remington 1894 Specials and many other fantastic collectible landmark American sporting shotguns. This gun was purchased by him from well known Parker collector Otis Otum and an original tag from Otis accompanies the gun.
Overall, the gun remains in near mint condition as custom finished by Pachmary. Virtually all finish remains to both wood and metal surfaces with only the most minor of handling marks. The bores are bright and shiny and the mechanics are crisp.
