Description:
British Model 1899 Cavalry Troopers Sword & Scabbard
Trooper's Sword, measuring 39 inches overall with a 32 3/4 inch slightly curved, flat back blade with a single fuller to each side to within 7 inches of the round point. Steel basket hilt and 2 piece checkered black leather grips secured with 3 pins.
British proofmarks to the left side of the blade, Right side of the blade shows the Enfield manufaturing stamp (ENF) below a British Broadarrow, with a proofmark below. Top of the spine ahead of the hilt also shows athe date stamp '99 above a British proofmark.
Blade has it's original factory edge with no nicks or marksThe basket hilt has some pitting & darking. Wear to the grips from age and use with the checkering being smooth in some areas. Issue steel scabbard and a regimental markings with rack number below the throat.
